Bamboo The Band
No band since the Beatles has generated as much recent interest
as Bamboo. The winner of 2004 MTV Philippines Best New Artist, Best Group and Favorite Song for "Noypi," Bamboo is named after
the frontman of the band, Bamboo Manalac from the Philippines. The guitarist Ira Cruz goes on to say the name of the
band has a deeper meaning, because the word "bamboo" also relates to strength and durability with an island feel to it.

Simple But Rock
July 3, 2009
Simple But Rock, this is the best way to describe the new music video from bamboo called "Muli" directed by
Marie Jamora starring Teresa Herrera and Nick Padilla.
The video is all about the story of a guy who found a beautiful girl then suddenly he found
out that the girl, who became his friend, has already a kid. The story is simple but has a sense. The video was great,
even there is no appearance of the band (which is not good), people love it.
I just added it at the "Latest Single" section. Credits from Marie Jamora
An Update, A New Single
June 22, 2009
I was in the
bus when I heard the new single of Bamboo called "Muli" From there latest album "As Tomorrow Becomes Yesterday" and I am surprise
that they considered it to be a single, the song is great but it is just that there are better songs in the album like "Blown
Away" or "Kalayaan". The song Muli, as we all known, was not written by the band but it was written by Epy Quizon which is
a very close friend of the band.
When they released
there album last year, many believers thought that “Kalayaan” will be the 2nd single, “Blown
Away” or “Nobody Knows” will be the 3rd, and “Last days on a Cruise Ship” or “24/7”
will be the 4th. Then suddenly Bamboo released there 2nd single which is “Last days on a Cruise
Ship”, which is a great song by the way, and now they are releasing there 3rd single which is “Muli”.
I also notice
some delay in releasing there single, is there really a delay or it is just me? I mean, the song “Kailan”
was released last 2008, it is almost 1 year since then, and now they are just releasing there 3rd single.
is a great band, the best in the Philippines IMO. I just hope they will continue to create good music, I think they know it anyway.
It is just that I, like many other people, feel slightly different when they released there very first single (Noypi) than

The Emancipation of Bamboo and Pinoy Rock
April 20, 2008
"Back in 1993… I knew what I would be… As the music plays the band, the band keeps playing the
music." – Francisco "Bamboo" Maņalac could not have said it any better. He really knew what he wanted to be –
a prophet like Muhammad or Mohammed if you wish. Such strong claim on his "personal mission" is magnified in Light Peace Love."
BODY TALK WITH BAMBOO
February 01, 2008
FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo (philstar)
They must have been separated at birth.
Bamboo is the flipside of Sen. Chiz Escudero and vice-versa. Their being lookalikes is mutually
beneficial. Bamboo didn’t openly or officially endorse Chiz during the May elections last year but I’m sure a
lot of Bamboo fans rooted — and voted — for Chiz.
But the intriguing question is: Did Bamboo vote for Chiz?
“I’m not gonna say who I voted for,” Bamboo begged off, in the same breath admitting
that he was “flattered” by their “carbon-copy-ness” and recalling, “I think I saw him on TV
during the election campaign in Cotabato, singing one of our songs.”
Perhaps, many people know him only as plain Bamboo and not by his kilometric full name — okay,
now, take a deep breath: Francisco Gaudencio Lupe Belardo Maņalac. That includes...
